Sing praises to the Lord with the lyre...

...and the sound of melody.

With trumpets and the sound of the horn...

Make a joyful noise before the King, the Lord.

Make a joyful noise... the Lord, all the earth.

Break forth into joyous song...

and sing praises.

Let the hills sing together...

...for joy at the presence of the Lord.

Welcome to the Music Ministry

The music ministry is a very active part of the Reformed Church's ongoing initiatives to move forward toward growth and outreach. Music Co-Directors Mi-Won Kim and Jeremy Goldsmith bring their considerable expertise to bear in an ambitious program not only to provide music for regular Sunday services, but also to reach beyond the church to the community.

Chancel Choir
The chancel choir continues to grow in size and ability, learning a new anthem each week during the spring, fall and winter, with choir rehearsal on Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. and Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. The choir is on summer break from mid-June  through Labor Day, when the congregation moves to the Old Dutch Church of Sleepy Hollow for Sunday worship services. The choir resumes rehearsals in early September in preparation for the congregation's return to the Clock Church.

Handbell Choir
The Handbell Choir is comprised of volunteers whose skills continue to broaden. Rehearsal time is Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m., suspended during the summer.

Children's Choirs 2017-18
Our free choral program for children of all ages provide them the chance to sing and ring hand bells to hymns and popular Christian melodies and to enjoy Christian fellowship. Cherub Choir I meets on Wednesday directly after New Beginnings nursery school, from noon to 12:40. Cherub Choir II meets shortly after school on Wednesdays, from 4 p.m. to 4:40 p.m. The Junior Choir meets later in the afternoon on Wednesdays, from 4:45 to 5:45.
If you are new to choir and would like your children to participate, please contact the church office, (tel. 914-631-4497) and leave a message for Nell Macdonald, children's choir director.

Music Update

As you may remember, we said good-bye to two of our choir section leaders in June, and we have a new alto section leader, but are still looking for the tenor as we write this.

We've resumed our mid-week evening choir rehearsals as of Wednesday, Sept. 5. If any of you have been wondering about singing with the choir, please join us in the music room at 7 p.m.!

Sunday School for the past year has included singing, which we plan to continue. We think everyone agrees that the chldren are beginning to sound like a choir! We can all look forward to hearing them all sing joyfully at a number of services this coming year.

As for the Handbell Choir, we'll have to perform something of a re-boot. If any of you are interested in learning to read music and making music with some friendly folks, this is an excellent opportunity ffor you to do just that. So we invite anyone who's been curious about learning to read music to come and try the bell choir! Listen for announcements on when rehearsals will start.

We're looking forward to another exciting year of sharing music with all of you, hoping more of you will join us in making music together.

--Jeremy and Mi-Won

Young Choristers Get New Robes

Thanks to an anonymous donor, the church's two children's choirs will get new choir robes. The purchase of new robes was necessary because the choirs have grown, says Nell MacDonald, who leads rehearsals with them on Wednesday afternoons. The pre-schoolers and older choristers now have about 30 members altogether.

Let the Children Sing!

Our free choral program for children of all ages provides them the chance to sing and ring hand bells to hymns and popular Christian melodies and to enjoy Christian fellowship.
