The music ministry is a very active part of the Reformed Church’s ongoing initiatives to move forward toward growth and outreach. Music Co-Directors Mi-Won Kim and Jeremy Goldsmith bring their considerable expertise to bear in an ambitious program not only to provide music for regular Sunday services, but also to reach beyond the church to the community.
Chancel Choir
The chancel choir continues to grow in size and ability, learning a new anthem each week during the spring, fall and winter, with choir rehearsal on Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. and Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. The choir is on summer break from mid-June through Labor Day, when the congregation moves to the Old Dutch Church of Sleepy Hollow for Sunday worship services. The choir resumes rehearsals in early September in preparation for the congregation’s return to the Clock Church.
Handbell Choir
The Handbell Choir is comprised of volunteers whose skills continue to broaden. Rehearsal time is Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m., suspended during the summer.
Children’s Choirs 2017-18
Our free choral program for children of all ages provide them the chance to sing and ring hand bells to hymns and popular Christian melodies and to enjoy Christian fellowship. Cherub Choir I meets on Wednesday directly after New Beginnings nursery school, from noon to 12:40. Cherub Choir II meets shortly after school on Wednesdays, from 4 p.m. to 4:40 p.m. The Junior Choir meets later in the afternoon on Wednesdays, from 4:45 to 5:45.
If you are new to choir and would like your children to participate, please contact the church office, (tel. 914-631-4497) and leave a message for Nell Macdonald, children’s choir director.
