The message for worship on February 2 was how Jesus turned the world upside down, when he proclaimed the Beatitudes at the Sermon on the Mount.

“Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

Huh?

“Blessed are the meek,
for they shall inherit the earth.”

What’s that?

Blessed are the merciful,
for they shall obtain mercy.

Come again?

To drive that point home during the children’s message, selected members of the congregation donned silly garb to surprise the kids, as Jesus continues to surprise us all to this day.

And to celebrate Lunar New Year, we made DUMPLINGS after worship!  Yum….!

We also celebrated some youthful February birthdays.  Smile BIGGER, guys!!!
