Accepted the call of the Reformed Church of the Tarrytowns in 2009. Previously served as pastor of the Reformed Church, St. Thomas, Virgin islands, for 14 years.

  • Two Reformation Sunday Services to Be Held at Old Dutch Church on Oct. 30; Clock Church Closed

    Dr. David McConnellThe Rev. Jeffrey Gargano will lead two Reformation Sunday/All Saints worship services at the Old Dutch Church of Sleepy Hollow on Sunday, Oct. 30 at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. The Clock Church will be closed that day. Dr. David McConnell (pictured) will be the guest organist at both services, performing works of traditional liturgy, Bach fugues and prayers of remembrance. The adult choir and handbell choir will sing and ring at the 11 a.m. service. Between the two worship services, the pastor and congregation will dedicate a memorial in the Burying Ground to honor Julia, Paul and John Vdareny, who were longtime members of our church and generous benefactors of the Old Dutch.
    Dr. David McConnell holds several positions in the Berks/Lehigh Counties of Pennsylvania, including minister of music at Immanuel UCC in Shillington. He teaches and conducts at Lehigh Carbon Community College, Penn State University's Berks Campus, and Alvernia University. His choirs have toured in the U.S. Virgin Islands and Latvia, as well as Baltimore, Washington D.C. and Carnegie Hall in New York City. In recent years he has conducted choirs in Amsterdam and Portugal. Everyone is welcome to attend these services.
